Saturday goodness...

Normally on Saturday mornings I'm running out with Moon to grab coffee and lunch and poke around fabric stores or the paper place where I watch her drool over scrapbooking supplies. lol This is what we like to call "Saturday Goodness". lol

The real thing is the coffee.

There's something about the smell and the heat and well, the taste is simply amazing, let's not forget that.

Recently I've been working on getting some weight off... let's face it, this has been an on-going struggle for the majority of my adult life and i'd like to blame it on childbirth... just sayin'. So, I've become a slave to the MacDonald's Latte's but have decided (because I'm very wise) that they're overly priced and have a high calorie count that I really don't need (see? I told you I was wise. one really needs to be very bright to notice these things right off the bat like i just did ::smirks::).

For the last two weeks I've been experimenting with the amount of sugar it takes to make a large "basic" coffee from Mac's taste worthwhile. And I am here to tell you that I have discovered it. I know. I know how you're so excited to hear this amazing discovery and how it will change my life for-ev-ver. Yup. I know it. Are you ready? No really. Are you? Okay. Well, it started with 4 creams and 4 sugars and it wasn't sweet enough. Heck, I would have bet they didn't put anything in it at all with that ratio. So then I tried 8 and 8. Nope. That didn't work. And then I took the big leap and tried 10 and 10. (why are you freaking out like that? it's so not necessary!) It's just right. It's not too sweet and it's not too strong. It's just right. Like the bears. Or is it goldilocks. Well whatever, it's just right.

You're probably thinking that this is just overkill and that I am one of those "would you like some coffee with your sugar" but I am here to tell you (while standing on my soap box) that putting 10 creams and 10 sugars into a MacDonald's LARGE coffee is barely sugary AT ALL. So, go try it. I dare you. And guess what? the gal at mac's taking your order won't even flinch because she told me that she has a guy that comes through their drive-in lane every. single. day. and he puts....wait for it.....25 and 25 in his. Yup. So he um... he's wanting some coffee with his sugar. lol :)

It's going to be Saturday Goodness for me... I'm going to get my coffee...and run to town with the fam today.

I hope you have a wonderful day and when you're sipping your too-strong-not-sugary-enough-for-laurie coffee this weekend, think of me and say to yourself, "hmm... i think i'll try that 10 and 10 thing" because it'll make you happy and cheery and you will writing me, saying, "YOU WERE SO RIGHT!!!!" :) (you know, cause i'm all smart and junk ::giggles::).

Ok Laurie, you and I are SO much alike it's sickening!! I am one of those "would you like some coffee with your cream and sugar" kind of gal. I get the D&D Caramel (swirl) EXTRA LIGHT EXTRA SWEET!! And here's the kicker, they never add enough sugar to it, so I have one of those pourable sugar containers that I keep under the passenger seat in my car so I can add as needed. It's my one indulgence... I call it my "hot fudge sundae in a glass". Enjoy it! Life is too short! 10 and 10 it is! :)
